About Us
The Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association, Inc. is proud to operate an official preliminary program for the Miss North Carolina and Miss America organizations.
Our program serves a 12-county region in the western piedmont and southern foothills area of our state: Gaston, Cleveland, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, Rutherford, Catawba, Caldwell, Alexander, Burke, and Polk counties.
We are committed to promoting the four principles of Miss America: Service, Scholarship, Style, and Success. Delores Cox serves as our executive director.
The people who serve on our committee are volunteers committed to providing scholarship opportunities and enriching the lives of young women in our community.
Each year, our annual competition features the crowning of Miss Gastonia, Miss Gaston County, and Miss Mount Holly. We also crown our Outstanding Teen winners for Gastonia, Gaston County, and Mount Holly. Our six winners go on to represent our area in the Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina's Outstanding Teen competitions.
